Florence Ng has lived in Hong Kong since her birth. She has co-founded Kubrick Poetry with friends. With their help, she has self-published a poetry book called Book of Shoes (《鞋子集》). She has won Youth Literary Awards and her poems have appeared in different publications. Her first bilingual collection Wild Boar in Victoria Harbour was published by Kubrick in 2019.

Florence Ng’s first bilingual collection captures the essence and everlasting amid the torrents that have been washing the city through the voice of a wild boar—a free-spirited beast who dares to swim in one of the world’s busiest and most commercialized harbours. Given the city’s unique historical development and geographical location, the poet writes in four mainstream languages—English, Chinese, Cantonese, Cantonglish to examine how the meeting of East and West, North and South exerts its influence in everyday life, while at the same time she never forgets to speak for the neglected, marginalized and the oppressed—chicks in a decimated tree, an old lady who hungers for company, a questioning Christian, an old man battered by life… This is a collection for all those who believe in faith and love in a polarized society.
