Babby Fung
Born and raised in Hong Kong, she is a self-taught artist who only truly picked up the brush again during the pandemic in 2019. In the quiet pockets of time while working from home, “The Plump Clan” slowly came to life. “The Plump Clan” are a group of joyful women who transcend time and place. They are round, cute, optimistic and cheerful, always breaking out of life’s boxes with creativity and humour, bringing warmth and laughter to those who meet them. For this exhibition, she created the “Happy Together” series, placing these chubby girls inside whimsical, childlike imaginary scenes. They share the space with odd objects, quirky characters and animals, hiding small stories and tiny moments of fun for those who look a little closer. Most of the works are full of bright colours and deliberately off-proportion compositions. One may also notice small 3D elements and stickers tucked into the paintings here and there – little details filled with childlike curiosity, hoping to bring out a quiet smile.

香港土生土長的自學畫家，重拾疏懶多年的畫畫興趣，是始於 2019 年疫情之下。留在家中工作的閑暇 期間，創作了一個「肥嘟嘟」族群。 「肥嘟嘟」是一群跨越時代與國界的快樂女生，圓潤可愛，樂觀又鬼馬。無論年齡或背景，她們總能用 創意和幽默，輕輕鬆鬆打破各種框架。 是次展覽特別設計了「齊齊玩系列」，以天馬行空、充滿童趣的虛構場景，讓「肥嘟嘟」走進其中，和 古靈精怪的物件、人物、動物、花花同場出現。細心欣賞，會發現畫裡藏着不少小趣味、小故事。 大部分作品色彩斑斕，構圖刻意不合比例。若慢慢看，還會發現畫面中隱藏着立體小物和貼紙，童心滿 滿，希望為觀眾帶來會心一笑。
